It was in 1898 that a Roman bathhouse was uncovered in the Carinthian Möll Valley. This large facility covered an area of almost 300 m2. Following this, the site on the Haselangerwiese in Mühldorf in Mölltal spent 120 years in a deep sleep. Only a team of researchers led by archaeologist Stefan Pircher was able to rediscover the forgotten Roman baths.
In the course of the research project, evidence of settlement traces from the Bronze Age and a large Celtic settlement extending over 20 hectares with continuity (approx. 10 hectares) into Roman times was found.
