Sirkap - Indo-Greek Taxila

Hellenistic city, identified with the Indo-Greek Taxila, founed by Demetrius I. Probably rebuilt by Menander I. Later occupied by Indo-Scythians and Indo-Parthians. Abandoned during Kushan rule. Excavated by J. Marshall (1913-1925) & M. Wheeler (1944-5).

Hathial mound - Iron Age Taxila

Iron age archaeological site of Gandhara kingdom capital, occupied until Achaemenid conquest. Later included inside the Indo-Greek Taxila. Excavaetd by John Marshall.
