The hoard of Roman silver coins date to the period of Emperor Augustus. According to Prof. Elif Özer, these coins may have been put by a high-ranking soldier who came to Aizanoi. The 439 of the silver coins are "denarius" and 212 of them are "cistophor". Some of the coins feature Augustus' face, while others bear the likenesses of Marcus Junius Brutus. The silver coins were found in a jug surrounded with three terracotta plates. Discovered in 2019 during archeological excavations led by researchers from Pamukkale University, currently housed in İzmir Arkeoloji Müzesi. E. Özer : These silver coins are like a coin album of the last century of the Roman Republic period.
