In an area of 120 decares in 2018, the remains of a settlement dating from the third century AD were discovered and studied. Several historical layers from Thracian and Roman times are established. A Roman villa, a church, a bath and a sewer, a whole mausoleum complex from the 3rd century AD and a tomb were discovered. The excavations revealed well-preserved remains of architectural details (marble decoration), underfloor heating (hypocaust), four periods of living, certificates of production activity (20 kilns for building ceramics), 40 rooms, preserved plumbing system, a huge number of finds (including remains of fabrics), military diploma and many more. Currently in the Archaeological Park "Skaptopara" are preserved in their place where they were found, the Roman villa and the Roman bath. The Christian church, the ancient tomb and the pottery kiln were moved.
