The stratigraphic study of the pole holes indicates that - once these calcined posts were removed from their pits - their holes were immediately filled with stones, probably to prohibit any reconstruction. This fire seems voluntary and it is tempting to associate it with the reprisals inflicted by the troops of Caesar with Eburons in 54 BC.
