Horvat Matzad
A small fortress is located on the north side of the Roman road, about 1.5Km east of the group of milestones. It is called Horvat Matzad, meaning "Ruins of the fortress" (Hebrew), based on the Arabic name Khirbet-Kasser.

Biblical site where according to the book of Joshua (10:12) The moon "stood still" , thus aiding Joshua to triumph over the Canaanites. The site was built by the crusaders as a fortress.
