Verlamion - Verulamium (St. Albans)

A large settlement of the Celtic Catuvellauni at the end of the 1th century BC. It became a Roman town and was given Municipium status C. 50. Burned and massacred in the Boudican revolt it became one of the largest cities in Britain.
