Göllüdağ is a large fortified settlement of Neo-Hittite period. It is located in a natural defensive site on a mountain top (2172 m.)and right next to the crater lake of the inactive volcano.The settlement dates back to the VIIIth century BC [http://www.hittitemonuments.com/golludag/index.htm] .
