12 Century crusader castle constructed by Ugo Umbriaco for Genoese overlords. 1188-1197 held by Salaheddine who razed the walls. Retaken 1197 by Guy I de Gilbet, and walls rebuilt. The walls contain large quantities of stone from earlier levels of the site, and there is a small but good museum inside.
