Tabae or Tabai was a city in ancient Caria, although, according to Strabo it was located in a plain in Phrygia on the boundaries of Caria1. Tabae is one of the city states established in Anatolia after Alexander the Great.  this site was inhabited since Bronze Age. However since Hellenistic Period to the present day is occupy tothe present day. In antiquity Tabae minted its own dold and silver coins.
