Excavations at Çayönü Tepe have unearthed a settlement from Pre-Pottery Neolithic A (PPNA), the Pre-Pottery Neolithic B (PPNB), and the Pottery Neolithic (PN)1.The very first buildings of this farming settlement in the 10th millennium was circular  houses of 4-5 m in diameter. There were abundant of  chopped flint or obsydian tools, appliances made of bone or horn. There was no pottery but some clay figurines of animals and a few of human shape.
