Göbeklitepe predates Jericho. Late Pre Pottery Neolithic [PPNA] B temple site dated to 9,600 BC abandoned when the water supply dried up . Göbekli Tepe - Potbelly Hill consists of series of megalithic structures. The central round structure consists of T-shaped stones with carved animal figures. It was constructed by hunter-gatherer groups. The sanctuary was discovered in 1994 by Klaus Schmidt S1953-2014. Since then, annual excavation work has been conducted.
