Amioun Roman Rock Tombs

Apart from the rock-carved crypts, the nearby church of St. George (Mar Juryus) is built on the foundations of a pre-Christian temple¹.  Taylor provides (plate 104²) a photograph and the further information that the west (adytum) wall is well preserved.
