Gallo-roman settlement, ideally situated at the crossing of the road Bavay-Velzeke with the river Haine.
During the construction works at the canal Pommeroeul-Hensies, the remainders of 5 different boats were found, along with a small wooden pier. The boats were of different types, ranging from a simple canoe to a more sophisticated barge. Two of them are now on display at the museum "Espace gallo-romain" at Ath. In addition, a replica of the barge can be seen at the "Archéosite et Musée d’Aubechies".
