During a 1965 renovation in the Zweikirchen church, several roman spolia were identified and remains of a roman structure underneath the building were discovered.
An urn with a legible, but partially destroyed, inscription was discovered and is now exhibited inside the church.

An archeological survey from 2018 suspects an unknown building underneath the foundation of the church, probably two stories high, according to the size of the stones used as spolia, which were classified as typical for late antiquity.
