Mazaka (Caesarea in Cappadocia)

The settlement of Mazaka – the ancient name of Kayseri – probably has a history that reaches back at least into the Colony Period.It became the regional centre of the major Persian satrapy of Katpatuka in the 6thc.!", and then a Hellenistic Polis (with the cognomen Eusebeia)¹
